Ability tests and personality questionnaires

Assistant Test User (formerly Test Administration). Typically an Assistant Test User will be an individual who uses specific tests in well-defined and constrained contexts, such as routine recruitment and selection procedures or standardised assessment for staff development programmes, and who operates within organisational policies and directives on testing and test use. Choice of tests and details of how they are to be used and applied is outside the Assistant Test User’s responsibility.

Test User Ability (formerly Level A). Typically a Test User Ability will be working in an HR department, employment agency or within consultancies offering testing services. They may be involved in ability testing for personnel selection, development or career guidance and advice.

Test User Personality (formerly Level B Intermediate). Similar to Test User Ability but with an emphasis on administering and interpreting personality questionnaires or interest inventories in a selection, development, coaching or counselling environment.

Specialist in Test Use (formerly Level B Full) Typically a Specialist in Test Use will be an experienced psychologist who has specialised in test use and will have completed a number of training courses relating to a variety of different tests and types of tests.
