Situational e-trays - a new breakthrough

Simulations such as in-trays have a long and impressive pedigree.

In today's world, however, conventional paper based activities are somewhat dated and do not accurately reflect a typical "day-in-the-life".

At the same time, a significant failing with traditional assessments is that candidates frequently make decisions without having to live with the consequences.

To address these issues, we have developed the concept of a situational e-tray.

Building on the strengths of Situational Judgement Tests, but combining the notion of an an email Inbox, the first product in the series is VENTURA.

Set in a hotel/resort complex, the candidate is required to prioritise 6 emails and is then presented with options for action.

Each option then produces a set of consequences which the candidate must also address.

Targeted at mid-level (junior manager, graduate, senior administrators) populations, Ventura is administered, scored and reported upon totally online.

With an administration time of around 20 minutes, Ventura represents a significant breakthrough in assessment methodology.

Further situational e-trays are in development for more senior populations.
